The International Matters Concerning Maritime Mobile Service and Aviation Safety Were Considered in Vilnius

The meeting of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications (CEPT) Conference Preparatory Group (CPG) Project Team C (PTC) was held in Vilnius from 2 to 4 July 2019 in order to prepare for the World Radiocommunication Conference 2019 (WRC 19). This group is responsible for the preparation of the draft CEPT Briefs and draft European Common Proposals, related to the use of radio frequency spectrum in maritime and aeronautical mobile services.

It was the last meeting of PTC for the preparation of WRC-19, during which draft documents for Agenda items on maritime mobile service issues, related to modernisation of GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System), implementation of new autonomous maritime radio devices, development of data exchange systems and the concept of air safety ensuring system GADSS (Global Aeronautical Distress and Safety System), were finalised. CEPT countries will make their final decision, regarding the prepared draft documents, in the CPG meeting for the preparation of the WRC-19 that will be held in August in Ankara. The decision will be submitted to the World Radiocommunication Conference 2019 (WRC-19), which will be held from 28 October to 22 November 2019 in Egypt.
