The RRT will start implementing the Twinning Project in Ukraine

The Communications Regulatory Authority of the Republic of Lithuania (RRT) will start implementing the European Union twinning project in Ukraine “Strengthening the Regulatory Capacity of the National Commission for the State Regulation of Communications and Informatization in the Areas of Market Access and Quality of Service Monitoring System” .

The aim of this project is to strengthen and improve the regulatory capacity of the Ukrainian National Commission for the State Regulation of Communications and Informatization in the areas of electronic communications quality of service monitoring, access to electronic communications network and interconnection.

Almost two year long project will be implemented by the RRT together with the Latvian Public Utilities Commission. The beginning of project implementation has been foreseen in September 2019.

The project will be implemented by about 40 Lithuanian and Latvian experts, whereas the European Commission has allocated EUR 1.3 million for the implementation thereof.

The Central Project Management Agency will be in charge of administrative and financial management of the project.

Currently, the RRT provides expert assistance as a senior partner together with German and Polish experts by implementing the Twinning project for the Georgian National Communications Commission which implementation is estimated to end in the middle of summer 2019.
