A qualified electronic signature having an equivalent legal effect of a handwritten signature shall be based on a qualified certificate.
A certificate for electronic signature means an electronic attestation which links electronic signature validation data to a natural person and confirms at least the name or the pseudonym of that person and is in compliance with the requirements applied to a qualified certificate and prepared by a qualified trust service provider. Qualified certificates for electronic signature can only be created by authorised qualified trust service providers the list whereof is available at www.elektroninisparasas.lt/EN.
